Export Wizard Reports ToolThe session will cover topic areas such as how to pull numbers to complete a report or creating statistics to assist in telling the story of your organizations' work. You will also learn how this tool is used to pull a variety of reports on data collected in clients records, how to downloaded the data and open the data into a spreadsheet. This training is limited to those you have responsibility for monitoring and supervising programs.
Audience:
Administrators and Supervisors and their designees responsible for making reports, monitoring programs, and supervising case managers. Please note: You must obtain approval from your CAN Point of Contact (the staff member at your agency who acts as a liaison between your agency and CAN.).

Objectives:
- Understand the type of data available for reports using the Export Wizard.
- Understand how to access the Export Wizard and the steps to creating a report and downloading it to your computer.
- Understand the type of information available in the client records available for reporting and how it will be presented in a report.
Skills:
- Navigate CAN system to access Export Wizard and the steps to creating, editing, and running reports.
- Identify available information which can be included in a report.
- Use fields and logic statements to select data needed for reporting.
- Format visual presentation of report.
- Run and download reports.
- Open reports using a spreadsheet program.
Prerequisites:
- Must be a registered CAN user.
- Permission from the CAN point of contact.
- Supervisory or administrative need to run reports to evaluate or monitor programs.
- Or, tasked to run reports on behalf of a supervisor or lead administrator working in this capacity.
- Completion of the Client Registry training prior to registering for this training.
- Understands the data recorded in a client record, including: fields, formatting, and purpose in the case management process.
- Understands databases and is able to apply logic statements to filter and select data.
- Able to use spreadsheet tools to format, sort, and filter data.
Your registration must be confirmed by your Agency CAN POC before you will be allowed to participate in this training.
